Full Groom
What is included in a full groom?
When you take your dog for a full grooming service, you can expect an array of treatments. Firstly, the groomer will make a full assessment of your dog’s skin condition, checking for any lumps, bumps, ticks, cuts and grazes. Then your dog will be bathed with shampoo, before the coat is dried and brushed thoroughly to remove the dead undercoat. Next, the coat will be trimmed and styled, and your dog’s ears will be cleaned. Lastly, the nails will be trimmed and a finishing spray applied to the coat.

Why is dog grooming necessary?
Taking your dog for professional dog grooming, is essential for them to be clean and healthy. As well as ensuring your dog is presentable, professional grooming, can help eliminate mats, ticks, fleas, shedding, and stop other severe health conditions developing, that you otherwise would have been unaware of.
What are the benefits of dog grooming?
There are an endless number of reasons, why a professional grooming service will result in a happier, healthier dog. For a start, there are undeniable hygiene benefits. By simply cleaning and brushing away the dead skin, any bad smells will go with it. Unfortunately, the arrival of fleas tends to be inevitable when you own a dog. For that reason, the washing, brushing, and clipping of fur, a groomer does, means they play a pivotal part in checking for fleas and their eggs. Regularly attending a groomer will mean they become familiar with your dog, allowing them to spot any early signs of skin and health issues. Not only will healthy and shiny coats shed less hair, but it will also improve your dog’s appearance.
How long does a full groom take?
The amount of time it takes to have your dog groomed, usually depends on the breed and size of the dog. For most dogs, two hours will be enough time, although, in some instances the procedure might take up to four hours. When you drop your dog off for their appointment, the groomer will give you a good idea of how long the grooming process will take. When you return to collect your dog, the groomer will inform you about anything they have found, including skin problems, lumps and bumps or fleas.
How often should my dog be groomed?
The frequency in which you need to get your dog groomed largely varies, depending on the length and thickness of their fur. Breeds with shorter, finer hair require little maintenance, meaning they only need to get groomed every 8-12 weeks. Whereas breeds with long, thick fur need more regular attention, roughly every 4 to 6 weeks.
